One of the biggest hip-hop festivals in Asia, Asian Sound Syndicate (ASS), will return in a virtual format.

The festival will run on Dec. 19-20, presenting acts from all over Asia such as Bobby, Jay Park, Hoody, Punchnello, Ramengvrl, Mino, pH-1, HAON, Aklo & Jay’ed as well as Tuan Tigabelas.

“We’ve postponed the [offline] event to 2021 and present ASS at Home as consolation for hip-hop lovers in the country,” Fajar Faisal, creative director of ASS at Home 2020, said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday. “Our production team is working very hard to present a work that will be remembered by the audience in the hope that ASS at Home 2020 can be a beautiful closure for the year 2020.”

Indonesian rapper Tuan Tigabelas said that he was honored to be given the task of entertaining music lovers through ASS at Home amid the pandemic.

“ASS at Home unites musicians from many countries to perform on one platform, and Indonesia is the host,” he said. “I hope this event can be a milestone for Indonesia’s virtual music festival in an international scale. I am ready to collaborate with viewers from all around Asia to give the best performance.”

Tickets are available on Tiket.com, with prices at Rp 200,000 (US$ 14.22) for a one-day view and Rp 375,000 for a two-day view, while an early bird ticket costs Rp350,000. The festival will be streamed on visinetshow.com.

The festival also aims to raise funds to digitalize learning methods at 20 Indonesian schools amid the pandemic. In collaboration with peer-to-peer fintech firm Ethis, ASS will help purchase laptops, projectors and other tools to enhance digital learning at the schools. (wng)
