usic streaming platform Spotify has revealed its annual Wrapped list, which features the most-streamed artists, albums and songs by the platform’s 320 million users.
The 2020 Wrapped list announces singer Pamungkas as Indonesia’s most-streamed local artist, followed by Fiersa Besari, Hindia, Tulus and the late Glenn Fredly in the top five.
The Jakarta-born singer-songwriter is also crowned as the country’s most-streamed male artist, defeating Justin Bieber, Fiersa Besari, Hindia and Tulus.
Furthermore, Pamungkas’ debut album Walk the Talk has topped Indonesia’s most-streamed albums list. The album’s sixth track “One Only” is among the top five of most-streamed songs and most-streamed local songs lists.
The Wrapped list also announced K-pop group BTS as the most-streamed artist in Indonesia. The group’s all-English language track “Dynamite” became the first South Korean act to debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles.
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande maintains her title as the most-streamed female artist in Indonesia. The 27-year old singer topped the same list last year.
On the list of Spotify’s most-streamed female artists globally, Grande ranks third after Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift in first and second place.
Puerto Rican rapper-singer-songwriter Bad Bunny is the most-streamed artist worldwide and his sophomore album YHLQMDLG tops the most-streamed albums list.
For podcasts, the five most popular titles in the world according to Spotify are The Joe Rogan Experience, TED Talks Daily, The Daily, The Michelle Obama Podcast and Call Her Daddy. (wir/wng)
