JAKARTA: For popular singer Bunga Citra Lestari, better known as BCL, her love for the environment came with her new job.

"At first, I knew nothing about recycling. But now I know better how to properly manage the environment after being appointed an environmental ambassador," she told Antara after performing at the Toyota Eco Youth Scientific Contest III program at Taman Menteng Park in Central Jakarta.

She said she showed her care through gardening, a hobby she took up after being appointed ambassador by a company.

"Now I've started to help my mother gardening at home," she said.

During the event, Bunga, who also played in several television soaps, met high school students from across the country participating in the program. -- JP
