The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will send the dossier on lawmaker Al Amin Nur Nasution to prosecutors. Al Amin of the United Development Party is suspected of bribery in a forest conversion permit.

"We are coming to the end of our investigation into his case. We are planning to send the dossier next week," said KPK spokesman Johan Budi on Tuesday.

Al Amin, a member of the House of Representatives' Commission IV overseeing forestry, agriculture and fisheries, is accused of accepting bribes in relation to a permit for a forest conversion in Bintan regency, Riau Islands.

The suspended administration secretary of the regency, Azirwan, is being tried for allegedly bribing Al Amin.

Earlier Tuesday, the anti-graft body summoned Al Amin to be questioned over tapped telephone communications between him, several Commission IV members and Azirwan.

Al Amin's lawyer, Sukatma, said the legislator denied the recorded telephone conversations, which took place at the end of last year.

"My client denies having conversations as tapped by the KPK investigators, saying that none of the talks ever happened," he said.

At least four members of Commission IV -- Sujud Sirajuddin of the National Mandate Party, Ganjar Pranowo of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and Syarfi Hutauruk and Azwar Chesputra of the Golkar Party -- have been implicated in the alleged bribery.

The KPK has alleged that Al Amin distributed some of the money he accepted from Azirwan to the four legislators for their trip to India and to several other lawmakers for their visit to Bintan regency.

Al Amin refuted the accusation.

"What am I, a walking bank? There was no such disbursement. That's not true," he said after being questioned for more than four hours at the KPK office.

The anti-graft body, however, stood firm over its allegation.

"Al Amin can say whatever he wants. He can deny everything. We don't need his confession. As long as there's enough evidence we can send him to trial," Johan said.

The KPK arrested Azirwan and Al Amin at a luxury hotel in Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, around midnight on April 9, after the two were caught red-handed exchanging money and a document related to the forest conversion.

The investigators confiscated Rp 67 million (US$7,200) from Al Amin. The KPK returned around Rp 2 million of the money to the lawmaker on Tuesday, saying the money was not related to the alleged crime.

According to the KPK, Al Amin accepted a total of S$470,000 (US$351,000) and Rp 103.9 million for the House's approval on the Bintan regency plan to convert a part of a conservation forest for the construction of the regency's capital, Bandar Seri Bintan.
