KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Florentina Manbait, 23, a resident of Soe City, Timor Tengah Selatan regency, East Nusa Tenggara, was unintentionally shot to death by her husband, Oriston Eduard Selan, 27, on Saturday.

The regency police chief Adj. Comr. Suprianto said Oriston shot a bird using an air rifle near their house when the bullet hit his wife’s right eye and pierced her skull. “We rushed her to the hospital, but she died the following day,” Suprianto said on Tuesday, adding that the police have declared Oriston a suspect in the death of his wife and detained him. — JP
