I

refer to the article Palin says Obama's health care plan is "evil" published on the Post's website on Aug. 8.

Sarah Palin's distortion of Obama's healthcare plan is absolutely surreal. I am a former senior executive from the Finance Division at some major universities. Advance directives have been around for twenty years. I have an advance directive. Everyone should have one.

It is a living will and it allows one to state what they want done or not done if they should not be able to speak for themselves. For example: I do not want to be put on a respirator. I do want to be tube fed. etc. I do not want CPR if I should code. And by the way, Medicare is a socialized government program, your postal service is a government program and social security is a government program.

Obama is a great man, a family man and the right person for the times to dig this country out of the sorry mess left by the Republicans. And by the way, under Bush in the last days of his Presidency, 180 billion was given to the banking and mortgage system. Half of it was solidly a Bush administration deal and anything before it was a Bush administration give away.

Frankly I don't understand how one Republican can hold up his or her head after what they did to this country: broke every law possible and allowed this country to be raped by special interests, especially the oil industry and banking industry.

And this country is founded on freedom of religion and the separation of Church and State. When religion ruled, they called it the dark ages.

I feel so sorry for the American people because a small percentage who are so ignorant and can't think for themselves are going to ruin a good thing and a long needed overhaul of a failing healthcare system.
