ANDUNG: The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) will set up a team to investigate allegations one of its graduates plagiarized his thesis, which he also delivered at an international seminar in China.
Mochammad Zuliansyah, an ITB graduate, is accused of stealing his doctorate thesis, which he presented at an academic seminar in Chengdu, China, in 2008, from a thesis presented at the same seminar in 2000.
ITB rector Akhmaloka said the team would assess the originality of Zuliansyah’s thesis.
Zuliansyah received his doctorate from the ITB’s School of Informatics and Electronic Engineering in August 2008.
Zuliansyah’s thesis, Topological Relations for 3D Spatial Analysis, is allegedly an exact copy of Austrian researcher Siyka Zlatanova’s work titled On 3D Topological Relationships. — JP
