AKARTA: City Police have told residents to be vigilant in anticipation of an expected increase in crime during Ramadan and in the run-up to Idul Fitri in September.

“As in the past, we are facing an increasing number of armed robberies. Residents must now also keep a watchful eye,” City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar told reporters on Monday.

On Sunday, the police arrested three suspects for mugging several luxury vehicles in Gambir, Central Jakarta.

The alleged suspects were arrested while with rear view mirrors from a Toyota Harrier sedan and a hatchet. — JP
