span class="caption" style="width: 398px;">Chic/RynolJAKARTA: Actress Adinia Wirasti says she believes in Javanese myths (Kejawen).
The actress will play in TV feature length film (FTV) Mahasmara, as a Surakarta woman who believes in Javanese myths. Adinia added she believes in the myth herself, having grown up in a Javanese Surakarta-Yogyakarta family.
“Yes, I believe some myths; like when I eat, sometimes I leave a little behind. They say that’s for our ancestors,” Adinia said Tuesday as quoted by Inilah.com.
“When one has been indoctrinated with stuff like from a very young age, one will of course be influenced by it,” said the actress who starred in teenage flick Ada Apa dengan Cinta (What’s up with Cinta?).
The graduate from the New York Film Academy said she would play a woman who was cursed. Every time she marries, her husband dies.
Adinia starred alongside Nicholas Saputra in the film 3 Hari untuk Selamanya (Three days to forever). — JP
