USA DUA: The Managing Director of World Bank, Mahmoud Mohieldin, praised the significant development of Indonesian education, which received 20 percent funds from state and regional administrations’ budget.
“The development in education in Indonesia is unique if we see the country’s capability to accommodate the huge number of students,” Mohieldin said at the sidelines of a conference System Assessment and Benchmarking for Education Results (SABER) in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday.
Mohieldin cited that there were 53 million of students with 2.7 million of teachers in Indonesia. The number of the students, he said, were equal with the number that had to be accommodated in China, India and the United States. — JP
