AKARTA: British comedy fixture Rowan “Mr.Bean” Atkinson has been cast in a local movie that will begin filming in the immediate future,
according to the film’s producer.
Atkinson will star opposite one of Indonesia’s hottest singers, Dewi Persik, in the horror/comedy titled Mr. Bean Kesurupan Depe (Mr Bean Possessed by Depe), referring to the popular names of both stars.
“I can’t tell the public about the whole project yet, but it will be something unique,” KK Dheeraj, the film’s producer, said recently as quoted by tempo.co.id
The information that Deeraj could share was that Atkinson would play a role as a pocong (shrouded ghost), while Depe will be a cat woman.
Atkinson is renowned for his role as Mr. Bean in the comedy program of the same name, which has been aired on private television for more than a decade in Indonesia.
