op-six Italian soccer team Internazionale Milano — popularly known as Inter Milan — was too powerful for Indonesia’s Liga Selection, giving fans an entertaining showdown by beating the host team 3-0 on Thursday evening.
Facing the persistence of Liga Selection, the champions of the Serie A Italian league started the match with careful movement at Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan, Jakarta.
In the first 10 minutes, “I Nerazzuri” — or the Black and Blues, in Italian — controlled the game through Giampolo Pazzini, Samuele Longo and Giovanni.
It was to the host’s advantage, however, as it had a golden moment at the 13th minute through a solo run by J. Wilson, despite losing it after the ball hit Raffaele Di Gennaro’s bar.
In the 38th minute, Inter’s Longo stole a goal following a shot from Ivan Cordoba’s that was not anticipated by Dutra. As easy as it might have seemed, Longo tricked goalie Aji Saka to nail the only goal.
In the second half, Andrea Stramaccioni’s squad dominated the game, especially after the coach deployed Douglas Maicon and Philippe Coutinho.
Pazzini scored the second goal inthe 52nd minute. Luca Tremolada, assisted by Countinho, added the third goal for Inter in the 70th minute. The 18-times Serie A champions led 3-0 until referee blew the final whistle.
During their five-day Inter Indonesia Tour 2012, the club has been scheduled to attend several events around Jakarta.
On Friday morning, Stramaccioni and several players are set to give a coaching clinic to registered
participants.
In their next stop, several Inter players and officials have been scheduled to visit Dwituna Rawinala orphanage in East Jakarta.
In the evening, the whole team will have its second training session at Bung Karno Stadium before meeting Indonesia’s Under-23 team on Saturday evening.
The training session is open for media and public with tickets.
In their last item on the agenda on Friday, the Inter team and officials will visit the Italian Embassy in
Jakarta at 8 p.m.
