he police revealed on Friday that a group of seven men who claimed to be police officers had robbed Cameroon national Ali Abubakar, 35, in the parking lot of Hotel Formula 1 in Central Jakarta late on Thursday.

The victim had just arrived at the hotel when the men forced him to get back inside his car, saying he was a suspect in a criminal case they were handling.

They later asked the victim to hand over his watch, gold ring, wallet, five cellular phones and a laptop. They fled the scene with the victim’s car, a grey Suzuki Crossover minivan.
