ayapura: A Trigana Air Boeing 737-300 freighter skidded off the runway upon landing at Wamena Airport in Papua on Monday afternoon.

Wamena Airport head Junikar Pakondo confirmed the incident, which happened at 4:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. Jakarta time). The plane arrived from Jayapura.

'€œThere were no casualties in the incident,'€ he told The Jakarta Post by phone from Wamena.

He added that the aircraft'€™s nosewheel skidded 5 meters off the runway. The plane was later towed back in position.

Indo-aviation.com reported that the 23-year converted aircraft skidded off the end of Runway 33.

On May 8, another Trigana aircraft, a BAe-146, burst into flames when its cargo, including fuel, was being unloaded at Wamena Airport.
