Zhang/Zhao failed to compensate for the loss they suffered at the hands of Tontowi/Liliyana in the All England 2013.

Tontowi/Liliyana, who are now seeded third, on the other hand equalized the Chinese's second seeded pair's record of victory against them to 4-4.

With Tontowi/Liliyana's victory, Indonesia will send two representatives to the final round of the championship.

Earlier, men's double players Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan defeated Chinese pair Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng 21-19, 21-17 to go onto the final round.

Indonesia is depending on the two pairs for gold medals in the championship.
