Indonesia's best mixed doubles pair Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir proceeded to the final round of the World Badminton Championship 2013 in Guangzhou, China, on Saturday evening.
The pair went onto the finals after beating Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei of China 15-21, 21-18, 21-13, the Antara news agency reported.
Zhang/Zhao failed to compensate for the loss they suffered at the hands of Tontowi/Liliyana in the All England 2013.
Tontowi/Liliyana, who are now seeded third, on the other hand equalized the Chinese's second seeded pair's record of victory against them to 4-4.
With Tontowi/Liliyana's victory, Indonesia will send two representatives to the final round of the championship.
Earlier, men's double players Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan defeated Chinese pair Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng 21-19, 21-17 to go onto the final round.
Indonesia is depending on the two pairs for gold medals in the championship.
