undreds of PT SinarAntjol ex-employees staged mass rally in front of their office at the ManisIndustrial Plant in Curug, Tangerang, demanding to be rehired by the company.These ex workers had also told workers en route to the plant to go back home.
'We are doing it to uphold the Manpower and Transmigration Agency Tangerang office's recommendation on worker replacement ban,' Eko Santoso from PT Sinar Antjol workers' union, one of the protesters, said on Thursday.
He said the company had blatantly disgraced the recommendation by firing workers for conducting mass strike.
The company dismissed 348 workers on December last year because the workers had participated in the massive rally that was organized to demand workers normative rights' fulfillment.
There is no explanation from the company management regarding this demand. dic)
