rosecutors are demanding the Bandung Corruption Court sentence former Bandung mayor Dada Rosada to 15 years in jail for his involvement in bribing the court's three judges with Rp 2.3 billion (US$203,117).
'The bribery was aimed at influencing the verdict of a graft case on social funds in the city budget in 2009 and 2010,' prosecutor Riyono of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) told the court.
The prosecutors also asked the court to fine Dada Rp 600 million or make him serve an extra six months in jail if he failed to pay the fine.
Riyono said Dada, along with city secretary Siswandi and Herry Nurhayat, who was responsible for the city budget, agreed to pay the bribe to the judges.
The prosecutors earlier asked the court to sentence Edi to 12 years in jail while Herry had already been sentenced to five years in the same case.
Earlier, the court sentenced one of the judges, Setyabudi Tedjocahyono, to 12 years for accepting the bribe, while two other judges would soon face trial.
