he Indonesian judo team left Singapore Tuesday, feeling pride and joy after becoming the overall winner.
'The team is going home, proud of their achievements from the three-day event in Singapore. We finally realized our dreams of becoming SEA [Southeast Asia] Games overall judo champion after 20 years,' team manager Zaedun said on Tuesday.
Indonesia brought home four out of 12 gold medals up for grabs from the biennial multi-sport event, with credit to Mochammad Syaiful Raharjo (men's under 66 kilogram), Ni Kadek Anny Pandini (women's 56-57kg), Gerrard George (men's 73-81kg) and Horas Manurung (men's 81-90kg).
Silver was given to Apriyadi Iksan (men's 66-73kg) and two bronze medals were won by Maulida Szalsza (women's 63-70kg) and Garthia Tiara Artha (70-78kg).
'Their hard work paid off. But this is not the end, because we need to prepare ourselves for other tournaments including the Olympics,' said Zaedun.
