A

member of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Internal Affairs Division (Propam) First Brig. Fitra has allegedly cheated dozens of prospective police cadets of hundreds of millions of rupiah during selection procedures.

'€œThe NTT Police chief has ordered that the case be thoroughly probed. Fitra is currently undergoing examination. If he is proven guilty, he will be criminally processed, and if he has committed disciplinary violations, he will face a police ethics hearing,'€ NTT chief spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Ronaldzi Agus told The Jakarta Post on Monday.

Ronaldzi said Fitra and his syndicate saw to it that prospective cadets passed selection if they paid a sum of money.

'€œAs many as 13 prospective cadets have been victimized after paying between Rp 45 million (about US$3,400) and Rp 60 million to Fitra and his syndicate. Fitra'€™s actions were disclosed after the victims lodged complaints with the police,'€ said Ronaldzi.
