he East Tanjungjabung administration says it has prepared 20,000 masks to anticipate haze pollution as this year's dry season is likely to trigger a spike in forest fires in Jambi.
'These masks are to anticipate a haze disaster,' East Tanjungjabung regent Zumi Zola Zulkifli said on Tuesday.
He said his administration had also called for help from companies operating in East Tanjungjabung to participate in the distribution of masks to local residents across the regency.
'We have also prepared health workers,' said Zumi.
Zumi said the East Tanjungjabung administration had ordered all district officials to stay in their respective areas as the potential for land and forest fires was quite high during the drought.
'Both fire personnel and equipment must be on stand-by to anticipate the fires,' he said. (ebf) (++++)
