ith regard to an article published in The Jakarta Post on Nov. 10, 2015 titled '€œGus Dur, Soeharto next in line for hero title'€, we need to clarify that Mas Isman was founder of Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Gotong Royong (Gotong Royong Cooperative, Kosgoro), a microlending cooperative, which was established on Nov. 10, 1957 and then turned into a mass organization called Kesatuan Organisasi Serbaguna Gotong Royong (Gotong Royong Multipurporse Organization), also abbreviated as Kosgoro, on March 11, 1966.

Kosgoro was also a founder of the Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups (Sekber Golkar) on Oct. 20,1964, but was not involved in the formation of Golkar as a political party and opted to keep itself from practical politics.
