ith regard to an article published in The Jakarta Post on Nov. 10, 2015 titled 'Gus Dur, Soeharto next in line for hero title', we need to clarify that Mas Isman was founder of Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Gotong Royong (Gotong Royong Cooperative, Kosgoro), a microlending cooperative, which was established on Nov. 10, 1957 and then turned into a mass organization called Kesatuan Organisasi Serbaguna Gotong Royong (Gotong Royong Multipurporse Organization), also abbreviated as Kosgoro, on March 11, 1966.
Kosgoro was also a founder of the Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups (Sekber Golkar) on Oct. 20,1964, but was not involved in the formation of Golkar as a political party and opted to keep itself from practical politics.
