lue, the smartphone app through which users can file reports on problems encountered around Jakarta, currently receives 40,000 reports per day, a company executive said on Tuesday.
Gerry Mangentang, vice director of Qlue, said the number is indicative of promising public participation, adding that total downloads of the app had thus far reached 500,000.
“The reports include reports regarding the city administration, private parties and others,” he said as quoted by kompas.com, adding that in accordance with the increasing number of reports, city administration officials at various levels had also proven to be more responsive.
The Jakarta administration launched Qlue in Dec. 2014 with the aim of facilitating citizen complaints. Through the app, Jakartans can now upload photos and report problems that occur in their various neighborhoods.
Based on Qlue data, criminal violations continued to dominate the reports filed by residents in the January–March period with 29,363 reports, while waste and parking violations followed with 27,404 and 18,577 reports, respectively.
Around 80 percent of the reports have thus far been followed up by the city administration,” he said.
