The Jakarta administration plans to renovate two dilapidated city-run subsidized apartment complexes next year.
Jakarta Public Housing and Public Building Agency head Agustino Darmawan said the properties were located in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, and in Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
“We will renovate the apartments, because they are not fit for habitation,” he said on Tuesday.
Agustino appealed to residents to temporarily clear out the apartments for the renovation work.
“Once the renovation is done, they can return to their apartments,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
Agustino also said that the administration would gradually renovate other apartment buildings after completing the renovation of those in Sawah Besar and Penjaringan. (ang)
