A

transit oriented development (TOD) project will be constructed at Senen railway station in Central Jakarta, the third TOD project after construction began on several apartment towers at Tanjung Barat station, in South Jakarta and Pondok Cina station in Depok, West Java.

The project, the ground breaking of which is scheduled to be held on Nov. 10, will be jointly constructed by state owned construction company Wika Gedung, a subsidiary of state-owned construction company PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) and state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

He said Wika Gedung plans to hold an initial public offering (IPO), eyeing a turnover of Rp 3 trillion (US$ 222.17 million), to finance the project.

State-owned housing developer PT Perumnas and PT KAI began the construction of the four apartment towers on a 27,706-square-meter plot of land near Pondok Cina station on Oct. 2, following the commencement of a similar project at Tanjung Barat Commuter Line train station. (bbn)
