View all search resultscrocodile was reportedly spotted swimming in Angke River near Jl. Latumenten, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, in yet another crocodile sighting in the capital over the past few weeks.
The Jakarta Police, through the force's Twitter account @tmcpoldametro, said Jakarta firefighters were now looking for the crocodile.
A staff member of the Jakarta Environment Agency's water management body, Ato, said the two-meter long crocodile was spotted on Tuesday.
Residents gathered along the banks of the river to catch a glimpse of the crocodile, he said.
“We’re still working out how to catch the crocodile, maybe we should use a net or some other equipment,” Ato said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
A crocodile was also seen in Pondok Dayung, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta on June 15.
The police have continued searching for the crocodile since the sighting without luck.
Last week, there was a second sighting of a crocodile near the East Flood Canal in Cilincing, North Jakarta.
It is still unclear whether the crocodile was the same one spotted in Tanjung Priok. (cal)
