epok tap water company PDAM Tirta Asasta announced Monday that it will temporarily cut off the water supply for 40,000 customers from 9 p.m on Monday to 6 p.m. on Tuesday because of maintenance work at its Legong Water Treatment Plant (IPA) in Sukmajaya, Depok.

“We are currently replacing our mechanical electrical utilities and improving the pumping system while also draining the reservoir,” the firm’s communications and customer service supervisor, Dita, said Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

She said that customers in the districts of Cilodong, Cimanggis, Tapos and Sukmajaya would likely be affected by the halt in water distribution.

“We will resume the distribution once the work has been done,” Dita said, adding that she expected customers to supply their houses with clean water beforehand.

“We have prepared three water tank trucks to provide clean water. We are sorry for the disruption,” Dita said. (srz)
