View all search resultshe Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened 0.99 percent or 57.72 points to 5,869.51 when trading closed for the midday break on Wednesday.
Nine sectors supported the strengthening, with the diversified sector recording a 2.41 percent increase, manufacturing 1.79 percent and consumer goods 1.77 percent.
Total transactions reached 6.21 billion shares with a total value of Rp 3.11 trillion (US$209.19 million).
As many as 232 shares strengthened, 129 shares weakened and 107 shares remained unchanged.
The three top gainers in morning trade were PT Vale Indonesia (3.75 percent), PT Semen Indonesia (3.23 percent) and PT Medco Energi Internasional (3.18 percent).
The three top losers were PT AKR Corporindo (minus 1.13 percent), PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (minus 0.97 percent) and PT Media Nusantara Citra (minus 0.68 percent).
Foreign investors recorded Rp 149.24 billion in net purchases, with the largest foreign net purchases involving the shares of PT Rimo International Lestari (Rp 90 billion), followed by shares of PT Bank Central Asia (80.5 billion) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Rp 34.5 billion).
Shares that involved large foreign net sales were PT MNC Land (Rp 35.8 million), PT PGN (Rp 21.9 million) and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Rp 21.7 billion). (bbn)
