“It is for the first time that the state revenue will exceed [the target set in] the state budget,” Sri Mulyani said in Jakarta on Wednesday as reported by kontan.co.id.
She said the estimated increase was a result of growth in tax revenue (15.2 percent), customs and excise duties (14.7 percent) and non-tax revenue (28.4 percent).
“We will announce an update for the realization [of revenue]. We have made a calculation for the first week [of this month],” the minister added.
Under the 2018 state budget, the government planned to spend Rp 2.22 quadrillion, with a deficit projection estimated at 2.19 percent of the total spending. Based on the initial Rp 1.89 quadrillion state revenue target, tax revenue was projected at Rp 1.62 quadrillion. (bbn)
