Man was arrested in North Jakarta for allegedly selling external hard drives containing thousand of porn videos.
he Jakarta Police have arrested a man for allegedly selling pornographic videos stored on external hard drives on Jl. Sunter Pradise, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Saturday.
Tanjung Priok’s general crime division head, Adj. Comr. Faruk Rozi, said the suspect allegedly sold hard drives filled with around 1,500 of porn videos at Rp 2 million (US$141) each.
“He made a profit of Rp 1 million from each sale,” Faruk said on Wednesday as reported by kompas.com.
“He allegedly downloaded the porn videos himself and some he took from his friends’ collection,” he added.
Faruk said the suspect used to sell bootleg movies in VCD and DVD format in Glodok, West Jakarta.
“We are still investigating how long this has been going on. The suspect [claimed that he] did it on his own.”
Faruk said the suspect had been detained at the Tanjung Priok Police station and would be charged under Law No. 44/2008 on pornography. (ami)
