Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) deputy chairwoman Shinta Kamdani said there were investors who had to arrange their investment permits manually.
he goal of the central government to integrate the Online Single Submission (OSS) system with investment licensing arrangements in all provinces, regencies and municipalities faces difficulties, with investors having to arrange their permits manually.
The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), which manages the system, has not addressed the technical and coordination issues nor set a deadline for when the problem could be resolved.
“On licensing, there are complaints on coordination with the regional administrations and technical system,” said BKPM head for legal and public relations Suhartono in Jakarta on Wednesday as quoted by kontan.co.id.
The official said BKPM was trying to improve the OSS system, including the development of OSS Version 1.1. He, however, could not say when it would be launched.
Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) deputy chairwoman Shinta Kamdani said there were still many complaints from investors about the OSS system, particularly in dealing with investment licensing arrangements.
She said many investors had tried to use the system. She added under the central government, the licensing arrangement had significantly improved, but the failure to integrate the system with regions had caused difficulty.
“Even with Jakarta and Surabaya, the OSS system has not been integrated. They have their own systems,” Shinta added.
She called on the central and regional governments to fully integrate the OSS system to make the licensing process more efficient. She said that because of a lack of integration, there were investors who had to arrange their investment permits manually.
When the OSS system launched in the middle of 2018, it was under the operation of the Coordinating Economic Ministry. The BKPM started to operate the OSS system since early this year. (bbn)
