Using cloud-based data management is estimated to be able to improve energy efficiency by at least 30 percent
France-based Schneider Electric is encouraging local manufacturers to incorporate more data intelligence into their production systems to boost productivity and efficiency.
Schneider Electric, a company focusing on energy management and automation, has been promoting smart data management services in Indonesia for the past decade, saying that energy optimization goes hand in hand with country's Industry 4.0 road map, which will boost energy consumption for its implementation.
Speaking at the company's recent product showcase, Schneider Electric Indonesia country president Xavier Denoly said the market for data centers in Indonesia had multiplied between 2015 and 2018, indicating robust demand for such service.
"Digitization in companies [of any kind] allows them to have better and exact understanding of their company," Denoly said. "It is important as digitization allows every decisionmaker to make better decisions."
Internal estimates from Schneider show that using cloud-based data management could improve energy efficiency by at least 30 percent. It could also boost productivity by up to 50 percent and slash work-related incidents by half, said Denoly.
He pointed that cloud data management was applicable in nearly all sectors, such as food and beverage, machinery and even oil and gas, the latter having been an increasingly underperforming sector in the country for the past decade.
