Private water company Palyja has provided water tank vehicles in case of emergency for its customers.
leaking water pipe on Jl. Daan Mogot in West Jakarta disrupted the water supply in the area on Wednesday, private water company PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja) has said.
Residents in Kalideres subdistrict impacted by the disruption may have to wait until 9 p.m. to use water, as repairs are underway.
The leakage was spotted in a 35-centimeter diameter pipeline owned by Tangerang regency-run water company PDAM Tirta Kerta Raharja.
Tirta Kerta Raharja supplies raw water for Palyja from its Serpong, Banten, waste water treatment plant.
Palyja’s head of corporate communications and social responsibility Lydia Astriningworo said the firms had worked to fix the leakage since 11 a.m. and targeted to finish by 9 p.m.
The company, she said, had provided water tank vehicles in case of emergency for its customers.
“Palyja has deployed its entire fleet of clean water tank vehicles to anticipate emergencies, such as at hospitals or places of worship,” she said.(das)
