ndonesian women's soccer team Drupadi has trained with Tottenham Hotspur's women's squad after earning the right to do so by winning the newly formed 2019 AIA Women's League.

The Indonesians won 2-1 in a shootout following a 0-0 tie with the Strikers of China at the Tottenham Hotspur training ground in London, England, on May 10.

Successful penalty shots from Zahra Muzdalifah and Nur Fajriah brought the Indonesian team to victory, while goalkeeper Yolanda Krismonica Wijayanti was awarded with Best Player in the AIA Women’s League for her strong performance throughout the competition.

Following the championship win in London, Drupadi was invited by the Spurs to train with their women’s team at their training complex in Enfield. The session was delivered by first team manager Karen Hills and first team head coach Juan Amoros, who gave Drupadi a talk on the values of the Tottenham Hotspur women's team before leading a technical field session with the Spurs women players.

The Tottenham Hotspur women's team was recently promoted to the top tier of soccer for the first time.

“We are delighted to be able to invite eight Indonesian women players to train and interact with our players,” Hills said in a statement.

“The players demonstrated excellent technical skills, but what impressed us most was their natural passion and love for football. Our players and staff loved meeting and working with them and we hope they did too. Finally, we would like to say thank you to AIA for all their support with these girls and we hope this leads to a wider women and girls football participation rate in Indonesia.”
