Prabowo has issued the personal call to his supporters through a video posted to his Facebook account.
osing presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has urged his supporters to stay away from the Constitutional Court to prevent another postelection riot before the election dispute hearing starts on Friday.
"If you are a Prabowo-Sandiaga [Uno] supporter, then you don't need to go to the court," Prabowo said in a 5-minute video on his Facebook page published on Tuesday.
He asked supporters to trust the court and to accept its decision with "maturity, calm and consideration for national interests".
Prabowo also said that he didn't want any riots to occur, as he and running mate Sandiaga Uno were challenging the election results through legal and constitutional means.
His personal call comes following the May 21-22 riots, during which eight people were killed and hundreds injured.
Several groups of Prabowo-Sandi supporters gathered to protest the General Elections Commission's (KPU) announcement on May 21 that incumbent Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and running mate Ma’ruf Amin had won the 2019 presidential election. The rallies turned violent that evening and continued through May 22.
