The number of passenger traveling by airplane during the seven days prior to and seven days after Idul Fitri this year declined by 27.37 percent compared to last year. According to the data provided by the Transportation Ministry’s research and development department, the total number of travelers using public transportation by land, sea, air and railway reached 18.34 million people, down by 2.42 percent on last year. The head of the ministry’s research and development, Sugihardjo, said that in general the number of passengers on all transportation modes increased, except on air transportation.
