ewly inaugurated President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo unveiled early on Wednesday the lineup of his Indonesia Onward Cabinet 2019-2024.

Clad in batik shirts, Jokowi, Vice President Ma’ruf and the new ministers made their debut appearance together on the stairs of the State Palace. The President’s second-term Cabinet is a mix of old and new faces. Some members have proven track records in their respective fields. Others are best known not for their achievements but for their connections with influential figures.

Here is some trivia about Jokowi’s new Cabinet:

  • There are only five women in the lineup, down from eight in the first term.
  • Though the number of political parties represented in the coalition increased, there are more positions held by nonpartisan members than there are positions held by party politicians.
  • No minister is a native Papuan or Chinese-Indonesian.
  • No minister is Buddhist or Confucian. There are three Christians, one Catholic and one Balinese Hindu.
  • The Religious Affairs Ministry is for the first time helmed by a retired military general.
  • There are three political party chairmen serving in Jokowi’s new Cabinet. Previously, Jokowi did not allow ministers to hold political posts. This rule was broken when then-industry minister Airlangga Hartanto was appointed as Golkar chairman last year.
