he Jakarta administration has proceeded with its second vertical housing project under the zero-rupiah down-payment scheme in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, in a bid to lower the housing backlog in the capital amid sluggish interest for the first such project.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially kicked off the construction of the low-cost apartment complex, dubbed a “residential housing solution” (Samawa) in Cilangkap on Thursday.
City-owned developer Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya president director Yoory C. Pinontoan said the project was expected to be completed by mid-2021.
Sarana Jaya is cooperating with private construction firm PT Totalindo Eka Persada to carry out the project.
The apartment complex in Cilangkap, branded as Nuansa Cilangkap, will comprise four towers built on 2.9 hectares of land. One tower will be designated for the city’s zero-rupiah down-payment scheme, while a regular payment scheme will apply to the remaining towers.
The 24-story buildings will consist of 850 apartments, of which 60 percent will be one-bedroom and the remainder two-bedroom.
Under the second Samawa project, a total of 1,630 apartments will be built in addition to the established first project called Nuansa Pondok Kelapa in Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta.
