he Serpong commuter line station in South Tangerang, Banten, is running as usual after heavy rains and strong winds damaged parts of the station on Monday afternoon.
Operator PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) spokesperson Anne Purba said that despite the damage, passengers could still depart from and get off at the station.
"From KCI's observations as of 3.45 p.m., the commuter line is operating normally at Serpong Station and on the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung route," Anne said on Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.
No casualties were reported in the incident. In addition to the damage to the building, a tree fell down in the station's parking lot.
"The station's electricity supply was cut off, but there were portable generators supplying electricity to the station's main services," Anne said.
She added that the operator had coordinated with state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to fix the damage. She asked passengers to remain alert while commuting on the line during heavy rains.
"KCI officers are standing by to guide passengers to safe walking areas. Staff have also been deployed to clean up debris from the building damage and the tree after they were hit by strong winds," Anne said. (ars)
