Fans are reminding the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) to do justice to the new coach, especially by paying his salary on time.
ndonesian soccer fans finally learned who would be responsible for the men’s team when the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) announced it would officially introduce South Korean Shin Tae-yong as the new manager of the country’s senior team on Saturday.
The announcement ended weeks of speculation over possible new head coaches that had started right after the PSSI sacked Scotsman Simon McMenemy from the top position for his failure to make the national team perform its best at the 2022 World Cup qualifier. Indonesia was stranded at the bottom in the qualifier without a single victory in five matches.

“We have invited Shin to finalize the contract. After that, we will introduce him on Saturday. We hope that the whole process will go well,” said newly elected PSSI chief Comr. Gen. Mochamad Iriawan, as quoted on the PSSI’s website. The PSSI reportedly wants to tie Shin down with a three-year contract.
Shin’s appointment was not really a surprise for the fans as his name has been mentioned alongside Spaniard Luis Milla as a candidate to handle the national senior squad.
Iriawan, who was elected to be the new PSSI chief in a congress in early November, said during the event that he mentioned the two names when he was asked about the future of the national team.
