Lawyers doubt police will on Novel case

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan was summoned by the National Police for questioning on Monday, a week after the police publicly announced the two people suspected of attacking him with acid. While the police looked to see the acid attack against Novel as a common criminal case, Novel’s lawyers maintained their belief that the attack was related to Novel’s position as a senior investigator at the KPK. Novel went to the Jakarta Police headquarters in South Jakarta at 10:20 a.m. on Monday. “I am convinced this [acid attack] has nothing to do with personal affairs. I did not know them [the suspects] and have never met them before.
