Crew members of sunken ship rescued in South Sulawesi after 15 hours adrift on jerry cans
The KM Ismail Jaya reported at 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday that the ship had suffered a leak in its left hull while sailing from Tondasi Port in West Muna, Southeast Sulawesi, to Jeneponto, South Sulawesi.

Search and rescue personnel in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi, rescued two crew members of the sunken KM Ismail Jaya who had drifted in the ocean for 15 hours.
The crew members, identified as Safaruddin Lakis, 35, and Bayu Lakis, 35, were holding on to jerry cans and suffering from dehydration when rescuers found them.
"The rescue team found them at 5 p.m. local time. They were found far from the location of the sunken ship," Bantaeng Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) coordinator Arman said on Saturday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He added that his team was evacuating four other crew members as well as the ship's captain at different locations.
The KM Ismail Jaya reported at 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday that the ship had suffered a leak in its left hull while sailing from Tondasi Port in West Muna, Southeast Sulawesi, to Jeneponto, South Sulawesi.
The vessel, which was carrying logs at the time of the incident, eventually sank at around 2 a.m. on Saturday. (dpk)
