The Constitutional Court is gearing up to settle more than a hundred regional election disputes filed with the court last month, with the court aiming to finish all judicial processes by late March. The court received a total of 135 election disputes filed by losing candidates in the Dec. 9 polls by the end of the registration period on Dec. 30. The cases consist of seven relating to gubernatorial elections, 114 regarding regental elections and 14 concerning mayoral elections. The court is currently setting up various measures to ensure it can conduct safe hearings starting late this month amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “Besides conducting on-site hearings in the courtrooms, we will also conduct online hearings to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
