We recently decided to take a personal journey that was both promising and discouraging.

We had been thinking about converting our internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles into electric ones for several months. After careful thought and saving up the required funds, we finally decided to let our curiosity lead the way and headed to one of the government’s official garage partners for the conversion.

Little did we know that our expectations would fall short. We encountered some significant issues related to government policies during this short visit, which forced us to reevaluate our plans.

Sharing our experience with colleagues at the office, we soon discovered that they also shared our doubts about converting their ICE motorcycles because of some uncertainties regarding the program. These ranged from a lack of clear and readily available information to restrictions on the types of motorcycles that could be converted.

It quickly became apparent that the program, while well intentioned, still left huge room for improvement.

Our article aims to provide constructive feedback to the government, highlighting areas where enhancements should be considered to optimize the program's effectiveness and pave the way to a future with more electric vehicles on the road.
