Unlike the stances they took during the Six-Day War, these three countries should either individually or jointly condemn the prolonged war in Gaza.
With the growing global unpopularity of the war in Gaza, there are clear signs, beyond those of mere polling, that suggest a clear dislike toward Israel.
Whether this utter disillusionment with Israel stems from Tel Aviv's persistent denial of the need for a cease-fire to allow for the release of the remaining hostages since the previous one ended on Nov. 30, 2023, or the numerous warnings against Israel by the International Court of Justice and indeed, the United Nations Human Rights Council, that the likes of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right cabinet may all be liable for war crimes, a simple glance at the social media landscape provides a foreboding, telltale signal of total and overwhelming rejection of what should rightly be called "genocide".
President Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva of Brazil, which holds this year's Group of 20 presidency, has even gone to the extent of equating the blood-curdling campaign of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as the immoral equivalent of the Holocaust.
Major powers such as South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Algeria and indeed, Belgium, Ireland and Spain, have all called out the IDF for its vicious acts.
This is probably the first war where no pundits and professors have to put themselves at the front of any stage to tell the global audience what to think. Without being named or led by any leaders or nongovernmental organizations, all have transformed themselves into international solidarity against the war.
Even China, Japan and South Korea, three countries in the North Pacific that still disagree with one another on a lot of matters, are collectively against the further prosecution of this war.
The puzzle is, why? The answer is, why not.
