T Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL), a member of healthcare services company Zuellig Pharma, has introduced eZCooler to attest to its capacity to manage cold chain products (CCP).
At a time when the entire world is planning ahead in the logistics and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, APL realizes that vaccine distribution in Indonesia – with its large rural population and limited transportation infrastructure outside urban areas across the archipelago – requires a packaging solution that is cost effective and safe, especially since vaccines are temperature sensitive.
APL’s eZCooler packaging solution has been designed to comply with strict manufacturing and health guidelines. It uses vacuum insulation panels to maintain stable storage temperature for long periods and does not require an external energy source, making it an environmentally friendly solution.
Fully certified, eZCooler extends the holding time of vaccines from two to five days. The packaging solution thus maintains product integrity and patient safety during delivery to the most remote parts of Indonesia, as well as allows for temporary storage when needed at the end destination.
The eZCooler is part of APL’s temperature-controlled ecosystem that ranges from world-class warehousing facilities to delivery infrastructure. APL has also developed supply chains to match its operational setup for specific environments and mode of vaccination.
APL recently opened in West Java the National Distribution Center (NDC), a pharma-grade warehouse spanning 39,300 square meters with a capacity for 19,000 pallets. The NDC has three different temperature-controlled environments and advanced monitoring systems to protect its operations and the integrity of the products it stores.
The healthcare services provider and distributor also manages 24 cold rooms in 15 Indonesian cities.
The company’s excellence in warehousing and supply chain management has been certified ISO 27001:2013 on Information Security Management and ISO 9001:2015 on Quality Management System. It has also won a silver award for Risk Management from FM Global.
