The launch was aired live on Butet Kertaredjasa’s YouTube channel and Orkes Sinten Remen’s Instagram account from Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja art center in Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta.

Also at the launch was popular kroncong singer Endah Laras, singing her own version of “Protokol Kesehatan, Laksanakan!”.

Butet said he came up with the idea to produce the video because the message that the song carried was relevant to the current pandemic situation, while at the same time OSR has for quite some time not produced any videos.

“The message that this song carries is very good and interesting,” said Butet, adding that the production process of the video clip was supported by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry.

Butet said the music video was relevant to be produced because experts had predicted that the COVID-19 pandemic would still be part of our everyday life, at least until the end of next year, before the vaccination program was distributed evenly. 

The artist said that one of the best ways to encourage the public to implement the health protocols was through a song.
