inger-songwriter Sal Priadi served his fans a visual piece for the single “Serta Mulia” on Friday. Packaged in short film format, it tells the story of a friendship between a human and a monster.

The 15-minute short presents Adit, a young man who has a hard time looking for a job, a partner and his own passion in life. He gets a job at Sal’s cafe, only to find out that he has to work with a horrifying monster called GOBRADINZOR (512). However, as time goes on, Adit learns to face this monster and looks for ways to celebrate their encounter.

Sal brought in director Aco Tenri, best known for 2020’s short film Quarantine Tales, to work on the visual companion for the song.

“I first met Aco when I was working on another thing. I looked at Aco's works, then I found something that I rarely find in other filmmakers. There is innocence, simplicity," he said in a press release.

“What I tried to do when writing the lyrics for 'Serta Mulia' was to be sincere, without embellishments. Just like Aco's works," he added.

Sal admitted that fans had asked him about the music video for the single, which released in February, but he could not seem to find a reason to make it before he met director Aco.

In addition to Sal as the café owner, this short also stars stand-up comedian/animation director Ryan Adriandhy, whose contribution Aco was thankful for.

“For Ryan, the comedic timing is already there. And it was proven that during filming, all the stand-up scenes were shot in one take. He knows when to stop [and] to hold back," the director said.

Sal released two singles this year, while also landing his first role in a major motion picture in Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash directed by Edwin. Meanwhile, Aco released his short film We this year. With lyrics emphasizing happy days together despite the hard times, Sal and Aco agreed that the video matches the song. "Hopefully, this short can make people braver to face the monsters or fears in their lives," Aco said.
