The German Embassy in Jakarta will now recognize the use of Indonesian passports with add-on signatures for visa applications, as the two governments have agreed to settle the problem with a certain type of Indonesian passport that had resulted in the rejection of visa applicants.
The Directorate General of Immigration saw a significant increase in Indonesian passport requests for international travel. In 2017, the directorate received 3,093,000 passport applications, an increase from 3,032,000 in 2016 and 2,878,099 in 2015.
