The story of Nokia's mobile business has taken a turn following news that Microsoft is selling its entry-level feature phone assets to FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Chinese hardware manufacturer Foxconn, and new company HMD Global for US$350 million.
Nokia reported Tuesday a first-quarter net loss of 513 million euros ($584 million) due to lower demand in mobile networks as well as the impact of its acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, and warned of a further decline in earnings.
