View all search resultsThe University of Indonesia Lecturers Alliance has conveyed its support for a discussion on racism in Papua that was previously disavowed by the UI rectorate board over claims of academic sloppiness and lackluster planning.
Held on Saturday and titled #PapuanLivesMatter: Racism in the Legal System in Papua, the discussion largely revolved around the prosecution of seven Papuan activists charged with treason for their involvement in antiracism protests in Jayapura, Papua, in August 2019.
The cooperation must be organized with universities that are included in the QS Top 100 World Universities list and would cover the making of a curriculum, internship programs and work placement for students.
A group of students and lecturers at the University of Indonesia completed in September the production of a guide book outlining the standard operational procedures for handling sexual violence on campus. This was among the first of its kind, discussing, regulating and widely defining the sexual harassment that happens during college life.
